The Original Easter Egg
How It Started
Google launched the Jawan Search Easter egg on September 8, 2023, following the film’s theatrical release. Google India promoted it with #JawanOnGoogle. Searches for “Jawan”, “Shah Rukh Khan”, or “SRK” could reveal a red walkie-talkie.
The icon started an animation using Shah Rukh Khan’s voice and the bandages associated with the film.
What It Did
Tapping the red walkie-talkie played Shah Rukh Khan saying “Ready?”, and then bandages flew in from the edges of the screen. That first burst was only the beginning.
Each new tap sent more bandages rushing in. They crossed the results and piled up on top of each other, until they covered the whole screen. The more you tapped, the more of the page disappeared.
Impact and Reach
The effect combined Shah Rukh Khan’s “Ready?” voice clip with the film’s bandage imagery. Repeated taps extended the animation across more of the results page.
Its Discontinuation
The official Google version lasted about a year and left Search around 2024.
The Restored Experience
What’s Different Here
The original build-up is preserved: Shah Rukh Khan’s “Ready?” starts the first burst of bandages, and each new tap on the red walkie-talkie adds to the wrapping. The results gradually disappear beneath it until the page is covered.
The Easter Egg Experience
Click the button above to open the restored results, then tap the red walkie-talkie near the bottom of the screen. Shah Rukh Khan’s “Ready?” plays as the first bandages enter from the edges.
Each tap on the same walkie-talkie adds more bandages. Keep going until they cover the page. To start fresh, use the close button to clear the wrapping, then tap the walkie-talkie again.
How to Try It
- Click the button above to open the restored Jawan search results page.
- Find the red walkie-talkie near the bottom of the screen.
- Tap it once to hear “Ready?” and start the first bandage burst.
- Keep tapping the same walkie-talkie to add more bandages until they wrap the page.
- To start over, use the close button to clear the bandages, then tap the walkie-talkie again.
Pausing between taps leaves the bandages where they are. The close button clears the screen and resets the build-up, so the next tap on the walkie-talkie starts with the first wave again.
Final Thoughts
The search results end up almost hidden beneath Jawan’s bandages. Shah Rukh Khan’s voice opens the scene; your taps decide how much of the page it takes over.
