For the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, held in 2021, Google added six sports-themed variants to Chrome’s Dinosaur Game. Collecting an Olympic torch during the standard run activated an event.

What It Did

Surfing placed the T-Rex on a surfboard along a coastal course. Its single jump action cleared sharks and reefs. The other events were Hurdling, Equestrian, Gymnastics, Swimming, and Skateboarding.

The ocean scenery replaced the desert, while the pace continued to increase. A collision ended the run with a gold-medal animation.
